Devi Dharohar | Raag Durga | Choral Fusion Symphony

Devi Dharohar : Ode to the Legacy of Maa Bhavani - Raag Durga

This eclectic choral piece in Raag Durga is a celebration of the goddess who is worshipped as the Mother of the Universe. She is the source of strength, knowledge, and creative energy, the ‘giver of life’ who destroys evil forces. The soulful invocation presents the female power Shakti- the Mother Goddess in all her forms-  Durga, Bhavani, Lakshmi, Saraswati, Kali, Gauri.

Presenting the popular Durga Devi mantra chant tuned by Vidushi Arati Ankalikar Tikekar, which is followed by a popular Devi bandish in Drut Teentaal, Mata Bhavani Kali, composed by Dr. Prabha Atre.

Awake all night | Jaagu Main saari Raina |

Soulful Maru Bihag | Hindustani classical

One of the most poignant and rare ragas of Indian Classical Music is the exquisite morning raga Bilaskhani Todi, which is in one way a combination of Bhairavi and Todi. It is a type of Todi that has the Bhairavi "raagang" or is set to the gait and scale of Thaat Bhairavi.

A humble take on this challenging raga, with a traditional Drut bandish on Jagadambika, composed by Pandit Ramashreya Jha - Ramrang.

Vocals: Sudha Subbaraman   Tabla: Pritam Chakraborty

Jaagu Main Saari Raina : An interpretation of traditional Drut bandish of Dr. Prabha Atre, as an IndianRaga Fellow in 2019.

A warm dynamic presentation that brings alive the chemistry between the vocals and the instruments; the song a melodious narrative about missing the beloved and lying awake all night without sleep.

Dr. Prabha Atre (Composition)

Vidushi Arati Ankalikar Tikekar (Guru and Mentor),

Sudha Subbaraman (Concept, Project Design, Vocals),

Priya Bondre (Vocals),

Harlene Bains (violin), and Jesraj Bains (Tabla).
